 Thanks for the answer, Brian! Yesterday I came across your
 docs/examples/asynmultiengine1.py example after I opened the ticket and
 was actually puzzled by the block=True usage. After reading your answer it
 looks making much more sense to me.

 I am using the r3088 from svn. I had a look at ipython1-dev on lauchpad,
 looks like that's where things are happening. Maybe I should follow that
 bzr branch from now on.
