Short story: your long story sounds very interesting, and though I
don't have a clue (not a windows user, and I've never fired an ipython
shell from an embedded Python  interpreter), I'm very interested in
the outcome, so if you do figure it out, I'd like to ask you to post
the solution as a cookbook entry.  I'm sure I'm not the only one
interested by this.
